What is your name and what city do you rep?
Casablanca The Gawd, Buffalo, NY
Tell us about your latest releases, what inspired you to create them?
Most of what I’m releasing was over 20 years in the making. My original team reconnected recently after a long hiatus. The music is the easy part for me, now it’s time to make it a living and not just being told how dope I am.
What is unique about you and your music?
What’s unique about me is the passion itself. My music Is still the essence of the Nas 2000 Era but way more lyrical I Am. The Cadence I focus on is my way of staying different if you listen to some of these artists, they’re flow has no switch up which is why they mostly sound the same.
What shaped your music?
My brother was a writer I won’t say Emcee because I never heard him say them so I would steal his raps that he wrote and take them to school and recite like I wrote them, and they blew people away that feeling I wanted to return to so I had to start writing myself.
When did you realize, you were going to make music professionally?
I linked up with my friend Documentalz and began to make music back in the 90’s. I never took it as serious as I am now. Many people have said I have “it” and now I understand what they meant.
What type of music do you listen to?
I listen to all types of music, I rock heavy on the Nirvana, Greta Van Fleet but mostly classic rock. If its rap its mostly Nas but I listen to it all really. All forms of music are in my rotation.
What inspires you to write music?
I’m inspired by making a better life for myself and family to make it out essentially. I Like to think I’m a passionate writer so when I hear a beat I get inspired as to write to take the beat to different places then it’s been.
What do you do when you don’t do music (creative or otherwise) and that you are passionate about?
When I’m not making music, I’m working out just started painting so interested to see what I can create I am also a technician my other life, the boring one but I started from the bottom of a company and became a lead tech.
Happiness to you is…
Setting goals, achieving them seeing the benefits of the fruit of the labor and my wife and kids smiling daily.
What do you wish you were told when you first started making music that you think would help artists just starting out?
I wish I was told not to take any days off, stay humble enough to know who’s in your life for the better and separate yourself from the opportunistic people and stay focused and drive your passion.
Tell us about your upcoming projects…
