Exclusive Interview: Rising Artist Caddy Pack

What is your name and what city do you rep?

I’m Selina Pack, but everyone knows me as Caddy Pack. I rep Heidelberg, Germany, though I’ve got that American influence flowing through me too from my Baltimore roots.

Tell us about your latest releases, what inspired you to create them?

My most recent drop is “Don’t Be Afraid” featuring Pavy, produced by doom.got.beats and executive produced by Katrell the Phenomenal.

This track is all about pushing past fear and stepping into your power – something I’m really passionate about right now.

Before that, I released “Glitter Ocean” with Chris Cross – it’s all about those shimmering, dreamlike vibes that take you somewhere else.

Then there’s “High Off Life” featuring Padre Tóxico, where I’m floating through those golden-hour moments, you know?

Simple pleasures over weightless grooves and mellow keys. I’m also pushing “Change,” “Believe In Yourself,” and “Sandalwood” – each one carrying that message of hope and perseverance.

What is unique about you and your music?

My sound is this blend of gritty trap attitude with these melodic, soothing elements that just transport you.

It’s like being concrete and free as a bird at the same time.

Plus, I’m five feet of pure high-energy on stage – I get crowds hyped even on their first listen.

What shaped your music?

Growing up with my dad from Baltimore blasting rap and my mom in Germany playing everything – country, techno, rock – that diversity shaped everything.

I learned guitar and drums too, training with Jan Lindqvist from Guru Guru and at Rockschule Mannheim.

That foundation gave me the tools to blend all these influences.

When did you realize you were going to make music professionally?

At 14, I started writing my own lyrics and found my voice. Then at a freestyle battle, I connected with producer Tuny Chris, and we made my first single “Comin Right To Ya!” in 2006.

That’s when opportunities started piling up.

I even won a radio contest that got me a feature on a Kanye West record – though it was never officially released, that validation showed me I was on the right path. That’s when I knew this was it.

What type of music do you listen to?

Honestly, everything. My parents exposed me to such a wide range – from my dad’s rap to my mom’s country, techno, rock. That openness to all sounds is what keeps my music fresh.

What inspires you to write music?

It’s about love, believing in yourself when times get tough, and staying consistent no matter what. Every song needs to carry that message of perseverance and hope – even when you’re at your lowest point.

What do you do when you don’t do music (creative or otherwise) and that you are passionate about?

When I lost studio access because my producer quit, I didn’t stop. I taught myself to record at home, bought my own gear, and learned to produce independently. That DIY spirit became a passion – building something from nothing.

Happiness to you is…

Freedom. Saying what I feel, creating what I want, expressing myself without constraints. That’s my core.

What do you wish you were told when you first started making music that you think would help artists just starting out?

That you don’t always need to wait on others – you can build your own studio, learn the tools, make your own path. Independence is powerful. Don’t let circumstances stop the music inside you.

I learned this the hard way – even when I won that radio contest and got to work on a Kanye track that never saw the light of day, I realized you can’t depend on others to make your dreams happen. Sometimes the biggest opportunities don’t pan out, but that doesn’t mean you stop grinding.

Tell us about your upcoming projects…

Just dropped “Don’t Be Afraid” with Pavy – that collaboration with doom.got.beats and executive production from Katrell the Phenomenal really took it to another level.

I’m dropping singles pretty much every month and planning my first EP for fall. I want to keep expanding, reaching more ears, building my catalog. Also got a live performance at Pro Zwo in Mühlacker, Germany on October 25, 2025 – don’t sleep on that.

Any last words for the readers?

Keep creating, no matter what. Believe in yourself, stay consistent, and never let circumstances stop the music inside you.

I’ve had highs like working with major artists and lows like tracks never getting released – but every experience teaches you something. Thank you! #DontBeAfraid
