An exciting time for physical media music collectors: Michael: Songs from the Motion Picture is available for pre-order. Never did Jaafar Jackson OG fans expect to hold a vinyl of him smiling, starring as his uncle years after his “Got me Singing” 2020 release. Knowing MJ was a core inspiration of his, it is full circle.
We purchased the exclusive red vinyl, black vinyl, red cassette tape, and the CD – the first time purchasing physical music media in, well, decades. The shocker: only 13 songs were selected.
While it is rumored to highlight 30 songs throughout the film, only 13 singles were selected, and fans have mixed feelings. One question seems to be popular: Where is “Man in the Mirror” and why not extend the list?
It is marketed as a supplementary album, although I myself believe that there is more to come.
