Historic Music Biopic Lead
Make way for MJ, Dr. Dre, because there is a new leading musical biopic in town.
Michael Jackson’s legacy leads the film Michael to a $217 Million global and $97 Million domestic opening weekend record. The impressive performance takes the film past the previous record holder, the 2015 N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton, which made $60 million domestically on its opening weekend.

Rotten Tomatoes Ratings Gate
While it was publicly known that the film covered a certain period of Michael’s rise to stardom, many critics rated the film low at 38%, assuming it would cover the entirety of the legendary entertainer’s life. Unfair? Many feel this way. The 97% Popcornmeter begs to differ.
One thing I will say, is that Jaafar Jackson deserves that Oscar.
Audience Reactions (Yes, We Came to Party)
Fan reactions at the unofficial “dance party” during end credits are electric, with fans dancing til they got enough. Some couldn’t contain the excitement and the spirit of Michael Jackson took over during the film.
Michael is in theatres globally now.
