Guess Who’s Bad? ‘Michael’ Just Dethroned ‘Oppenheimer’ as the #1 Biopic of All Time: $1 Billion is Near

The King of Pop, and the people’s prince, Jaafar Jackson, has reclaimed another crown. Can’t forget younger Michael played by budding star Juliano Valdi.

After weeks of inching closer to the milestone, Michael has officially surpassed Oppenheimer at the global box office, becoming the highest-grossing biopic in cinematic history. The film has now earned approximately $977 million worldwide, edging past Christopher Nolan’s Oscar-winning epic, which previously held the record at $975 million.

Directed by Antoine Fuqua and led by a star-making performance from Jaafar Jackson, Michael has shattered expectations since its April release, breaking opening weekend records before rewriting the history books once again.

The achievement marks yet another milestone for the film, which had already become the highest-grossing music biopic ever. Now, it stands alone at the top of the genre—and with the coveted $1 billion mark within reach, history may not be finished just yet.

I’m already pre-writing the article.
