Aklesso Taps 1K Phew For Buzzing Single “Range!”

Following a thought provoking freestyle on Sway In The Morning over Redman’s classic cut “Tonights Da Night,” Darkchild’s newest rap signee Aklesso enlists Zaytoven collaborator 1K Phew and We The Revolt’s Reconcile for “Range!.” The Darrel Jones’ directed music video for the Enzo Gran & Killawatts-produced drop gives new fans another solid introduction alongside his standout feature (“Too Much”) on Lecrae’s Reconstruction album and the release of “Prodigal,” which officially kicked off the campaign to his soon to be released LP Still Lonely.

Speaking on the statement making music video, Aklesso shares:

“Range! isn’t just a hype record, it’s about breaking free from the systems and mindsets that keep us boxed in. I wrote it with the young men I work with in juvenile detention centers in mind, encouraging them to rise above gang violence and cycles of destruction. The song is a reminder that staying in that destructive mindset only leads to loss, but choosing a different path can lead to life and purpose.”

As confirmed by Billboard, Florida-born Hip-Hop act Aklesso has officially signed with Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins’ Alienz Alive, marking a new chapter in his career. Originally shared via Hot New Hip Hop, the announcement came in conjunction with the reveal of the MIA natives’ forthcoming LP Still Lonely, the sequel to 2024’s Lonely.

Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, founder of Alienz Alive, adds:

“Aklesso’s story, his culture, and his sound all carry a weight that this generation needs to hear. From Miami to Haiti to the global stage, he’s not just making records, he’s making impact. At Alienz Alive, we’re about building legacy, and Aklesso embodies that. I couldn’t be more excited to walk this journey with him.”
